BILG Scholarship


BALTIMORE INDUSTRY LIAISON GROUP (BILG)
SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

The BILG strives to present financial scholarships when the organization is financially able to do so. Scholarships will be presented to a College Student and a High School Student consistent with the criteria listed below. Each recipient will be presented with a scholarship in the amount of $1500 to be used for tuition, housing or books.

The scholarship is awarded to future business and community leaders who meet the mission of our organization.

REQUIREMENTS FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS

Graduating StudentsIn awarding scholarships to future business and community leaders, the Baltimore Industry Liaison Group is looking for well-rounded students with involvement in their colleges and communities. Students interested in applying for a scholarship should meet the following requirements:

  • Student must maintain a 3.0 Grade Point Average
  • Student must be categorized as a full time student taking a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester.
  • Students must currently be enrolled in college and must be registered for the following academic year (unless they are graduating at the end of the year).
  • Student must be involved in community activities. (i.e. Volunteering at local retirement community, soup kitchen, library).

REQUIREMENTS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

In awarding scholarships to future business and community leaders, the Baltimore Industry Liaison Group is looking for well-rounded students with involvement in their colleges and communities. Students interested in applying for a scholarship should meet the following requirements:

  • Student must maintain a “B” or 3.0 Grade Point Average.
  • Student must have good attendance records.
  • Students must participate in recognized school activities. (i.e. Debate Club, Athletic Teams, Drama Club, Band, Chorus…)
  • High School Seniors enrolled/registered to attend college for the following academic year.
  • Student must be involved in volunteer work. (i.e. Volunteering at local retirement community, soup kitchen, library).

College students will be presented with the scholarship at the October meeting; High School students will be given the scholarship during the April meeting, or when they have been accepted to a specific college.
